Preparation steps

1.

For the skewers: Rinse the meat, pat dry and cut into cubes. Rinse bell peppers, trim, remove seeds and cut into pieces. Peel the onions and cut into rings. Alternately place bell peppers, onions and meat cubes on 8-12 skewers. Mix the oregano with the lemon zest and oil and season with salt and pepper. Brush on the skewers and broil until golden brown on the grill, turning occasionally, for about 10 minutes.

2.

For the salad: Rinse the cucumber, trim ends and cut into pieces. Rinse bell pepper, cut in half, remove seeds and cut into pieces. Peel, halve and cut the onion into strips. Rinse the tomatoes and cut into quarters. Mix all prepared ingredients with vinegar, lemon juice and oil and season with salt, sugar and cayenne pepper. Place in a bowl and sprinkle with herbs.

3.

Serve the salad with the skewers and accompany with grilled bread, if desired.
