Preparation steps

Combine the amaranth, whole oats, sesame seeds,  ground flaxseeds, coconut flakes, ground almonds and carob powder in a bowl. Chop the dried apples and pears very finely and add to the bowl. Stir in 150-200 ml lukewarm water a little at a time. Mix and add enough water until the dough is malleable, but not too soft.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Press the mixture onto the baking sheet flat and score with a knife into squares so that they are easy to cut apart once baked. Sprinkle with the slivered almonds and bake for about 25 minutes, until golden brown. Allow to cool briefly and cut into squares. Store in an airtight container.
