Preparation steps

For the dough: In a saucepan, bring 180 ml (approximately 3/4 cup) water and a pinch of salt to a boil. Add the oil and flour and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until a smooth ball forms. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes, stirring, then transfer to a bowl. Gradually stir in the eggs with the dough hook attachment.

Heat the oil in a saucepan (or deep fryer). Transfer the dough to a pastry bag with a large star tip and pipe 10 cm (approximately 4-inch) long strands into the hot oil and fry until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve sprinkled with sugar.
