Healthy, because

Even smarter

Beef provides a lot of protein that we need to build muscles and stay strong. Additionally, the vegetables and other carbohydrates provide nutrients and energy to get you through your day!

Variations: Sprinkle grated cheese over the hot chilli con carne, after filling the taco shells. Use minced chicken or pork instead of minced beef. Use other canned beans such as haricot, borlotti or butter beans. Use the same weight of a mixture of beans instead of the beef

Preparation steps

1.
Heat the oil in a large heavy-based pan and when hot add the onions and tomatoes.
2.

Cook over medium heat until soft, then increase the heat and add the beef, stirring for a few minutes until browned. Turn down the heat and add the chile powder and oregano.

3.

Cut open the chile and remove the seeds under running water. Throw away the seeds, then chop the chile finely. Add to the pan with the kidney beans and tomatoes. Stir well.

4.

Stir in the chocolate. Season well with salt and pepper, cover the pan, and cook gently for 45-60 minutes, stirring from time to time to avoid the mixture sticking to the bottom of the pan. The chili should be thick.

5.
Heat the taco shells according to the packet instructions.
6.

Spoon the chili con carne into the taco shells and serve with salad.
