Preparation steps
1.
For the hummus, soak chickpeas in water overnight. Then drain the water and remove skins. Place in a saucepan, cover with water and simmer about 40 minutes. Pour chickpeas into a colander and rinse under cold water. Place in the food processor with the chopping blade and puree. Peel garlic cloves, chop and grind finely with salt to taste. Add to the chickpeas with lemon juice, olive oil and cumin. Blend in tahini, season with salt to taste, cover and chill about 30 minutes.
2.
For serving, rinse pepperoncini, cut in half lengthwise, remove seeds and finely chop. Place hummus in a cup or a bowl and serve sprinkled with pepperoncini, sesame seeds and cumin seeds.
