200 grams Spelt (cooked)
100 grams Wheat (cooked)
200 grams Cereal (unripe spelt and spelt mixed)
½ l Vegetable broth
1 onion (finely chopped)
1 garlic clove (finely chopped)
1 Tbsp Fresh herbs (finely chopped)
2 Tbsps Pumpkin seed
50 grams Sunflower seed
3 Tbsps Pastry flour (more as needed)
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground Cumin
salt

2 eggs
1 egg yolk
Fat (for frying, vegetable oil or butter)
Lettuce (for garnish)

Preparation steps

Bring the vegetable broth to a boil in a pot, stir in the crushed cereal grain and let soak for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer the soaked grains into a bowl and mix in the cooked spelt and wheat, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. Allow to cool. Mix in the flour and knead. Mix in the paprika and ground cumin, and season with salt and pepper.

Stir the chopped herbs into the cereal mixture. Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes. Mix in the chopped onion, garlic and eggs. If the mixture is too soft, knead in some more flour.

Make 16 patties from the cereal mixture and fry in portions in a pan in butter or oil over medium heat. Flip the patties after about 5-8 minutes and fry on the other side.

Serve the fried patties with fresh lettuce leaves on plates. Serve as desired with yogurt or sour cream.
