1 kilogram Broccoli
2 garlic cloves
200 milliliters Whipped cream
200 milliliters milk
2 Tbsps Crème fraiche
3 eggs
80 grams Gouda (grated)
salt
freshly ground peppers
freshly grated Nutmeg
2 onions
1 Tbsp Pastry flour
vegetable oil (for cooking)

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse broccoli and blanch in boiling salted water for about 2 minutes. Drain and rinse in cold water, drain again. Arrange on one large or two smaller baking dishes.

Peel garlic and chop finely.

Combine cream with milk, creme fraiche, garlic and eggs. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour mixture over broccoli and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 20-25 minutes.

Peel onions and cut into rings. Coat onion rings with flour. Heat oil in a pan and cook onion rings until golden brown. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels. Season with salt. Sprinkle onion rings on broccoli gratin and serve.
