Beef Tacos with Salsa
Ingredients
- For the ground beef
- 1 onion
- vegetable oil (for frying)
- 500 grams Ground beef
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- For the salsa
- 500 grams fully ripe Tomatoes
- 1 Red chili pepper
- 1 small onion
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 Tbsp Tomato paste
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- For the vegetables
- 1 small red onion
- 200 grams Cheddar cheese (grated)
- green Lettuce
- 10 black Olives
- For the tacos
- 8 Taco shells
Preparation steps
For the ground beef:
Peel onion and chop finely. Heat oil in a pan. Sauté onions briefly, then add ground beef, cook until brown and crumbled amd season well with salt and pepper.
For the salsa:
Blanch tomatoes for a few seconds in a pot of boiling water, peel, quarter, core and cut into cubes.
Rine chile pepper, cut in half lengthwise, remove seeds and ribs and finely chop.
Peel onion and chop. Heat oil in a pan and sauté onion and chile pepper until soft. Peel garlic, squeeze through a press, add to the pan, sauté, stir in tomato paste and tomatoes, cover, simmer for 15 minutes and season with salt and pepper.
For the vegetables:
Peel onion and dice finely. Rinse lettuce, spin dry and cut into strips. Chop olives.
For the tacos, lay taco shells on a baking sheet and heat in a preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for 5 minutes.
To serve, fill taco shells with ground beef mixture. Arrange strips of lettuce, onions, olives, shredded cheese and salsa on top, place on a plate and serve.
