500 grams starchy potatoes
1 onion
1 garlic clove
1 fresh red chili pepper
30 grams ginger
1 tsp Turmeric
4 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 tsp sesame oil
salt
1 l Chicken broth
½ bunch cilantro
250 grams King prawn (raw with skin)

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse, peel and cut potatoes into pieces. Peel and dice onions.

2.

Peel garlic and finely chop. Rinse and halve chile lengthwise and remove seeds and ribs. Peel and finely chop ginger.

3.

Heat 3 tablespoons sesame oil in a pan. Add onions, garlic, chile and ginger and cook until translucent. Stir in turmeric and sauté briefly. Add potatoes, cook briefly and season with salt. Add broth and simmer about 20 minutes.

Rinse cilantro, pat dry and strip leaves from stems. Peel and devein prawns, then rinse and pat dry. Fry prawns in remaining oil, about 3 minutes. Season with salt.

5.

Remove chile pepper from the soup. Puree soup with an immersion blender until smooth. Stir in cilantro leaves and season to taste with salt. Serve with shrimp.

6.

If desired, decorate with straw potatoes (fried potato matchsticks).
