400 grams Whole Wheat Spaghetti
1 kilogram Beefsteak tomato (ripe)
2 Tbsps Tomato paste
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 garlic clove
1 small onion
100 milliliters Vegetable broth
100 grams cooked ham (tirmmed)
salt
freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps

Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain. Blanch tomatoes in hot water, rinse in cold water and peel. Halve, remove seeds and cut into cubes. Peel and chop onion and garlic. Heat oil in a pan and saute onion and garlic until soft. Add tomato paste and saute briefly. Add broth and diced tomatoes, simmer for about 10 minutes on low heat. Cut ham into strips. Rinse basil, shake dry and pluck off leaves.

Add ham and pasta to the sauce and mix well. Season with salt and pepper and transfer to plates. Sprinkle with pepper and garnish with basil. Serve.
