Preparation steps

1.

Peel and julienne the onion. Rinse and dry the basil. Remove the leaves from 1-2 sprigs, and finely chiffonade.

Mix the onions and basil in a bowl, and season with salt and pepper.

3.

Mix in the sugar, oil, and vinegar.

4.

Rinse the tomatoes. Trim and halve the tomatoes, then cut into wedges. Mix the tomatoes into the onion mixture and let stand for 10 minutes. Garnish with the basil leaves and serve.
