- For the batter
- 50 grams Pastry flour
- 25 grams cornstarch
- 1 medium-sized egg
- 1 Tbsp water
- 3 Tbsps white wine
- For the syrup
- 4 Apple
- Frying oil
- 3 Tbsps Sesame seeds

Preparation steps

For the batter, mix flour, cornstarch, egg, water and white wine. Peel apples, cut in half, remove seeds and cut into pieces about 1 cm (approximately 1/3 inch) thick.

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pan to 175°C (approximately 350°F). Pierce apple pieces with a fork and dip in batter. Fry in hot oil until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

For the syrup, heat sugar, water and vinegar in a saucepan, stirring often. Cook for about 5 minutes. Place warm tempura apples on plate, then drizzle with syrup and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve immediately.
