1 kitchen ready chicken (1-2 kg)

For the marinade
2 tsps freshly grated ginger
2 garlic cloves
350 grams Yogurt (0.1% fat)
2 tsps Tandoori spice mix
1 tsp ground paprika
1 tsp ground Cumin
Nutmeg
1 tsp ground coriander

½ tsp ground Turmeric

Preparation steps

Rinse the chicken, pat dry and cut into 6-8 parts. Make cuts into the chicken parts about .5 cm (approximately 1/4 inch) deep and place in a dish. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Let sit for about 30 minutes. Place the ginger in a small bowl and combine with the yogurt and spices. Generously coat the chicken pieces with the marinade and cover the dish with aluminum foil. Place in the refrigerator overnight to marinate.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place chicken pieces on top. Place in preheated oven for 35-40 minutes. Baste the chicken pieces with the marinade throughout cooking time.
