Preparation steps
1.
Put the egg in a small pan and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and boil gently for 8 minutes. Run the unshelled egg under cold water until cool. This prevents a dark ring forming around the yolk.
2.
Butter the bread slices. Slice the egg and arrange on one slice of bread with the salad ingredients. Top with the other slice of bread and cut in half to serve.
