- 4 Sirloin steak about 180 grams each (approximately 6 ounces)
- 1 onion
- 2 Tbsps sunflower oil (for frying)
- 6 garlic cloves
- 2 green Pepperoncini
- 70 milliliters sunflower oil
- 50 milliliters olive oil
- 120 milliliters Lime juice
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 bunch cilantro
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- Limes (for garnish)

Preparation steps

Peel and finely chop the garlic. Rinse the peppers, halve, remove seeds and chop. Heat the oil in a sauce pan and add the garlic. When it is light brown, add the peppers, lime juice, cumin and a teaspoon of salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and let cool. Add the chopped cilantro (saving a few sprigs for garnish) and let rest for 20 minutes.

Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side (depending on your doneness preference). Peel the onion and cook the rings in the same pan. Arrange the onions and steaks on warmed plates. Drizzle with the herb sauce and serve garnished with cilantro.
