1 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 l clear Beef broth

Preparation steps

Chop sauerkraut. Peel onions. Cut bacon and onions into cubes. Heat oil in a saucepan and cook bacon until crispy. Add onions and sauté until golden-brown. Add sauerkraut and bring to a simmer. Add broth, cover and simmer about 30 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, caraway seeds and sugar. Rinse, quarter and remove core from apple. Grate apple into the soup and let stand briefly. Serve soup sprinkled with parsley.
