500 grams Chicken breasts
500 grams salted Pork
400 grams Basmati rice
1 Tomato
1 medium-sized onion
2 garlic cloves
2 Tbsps fresh thyme
25 grams fresh ginger
5 cloves
4 Tbsps Anise seed
½ Tbsp Masala
½ Tbsp Turmeric
freshly ground Black pepper
salt
2 Tbsps sunflower oil

Preparation steps

1.

Soak pork in cold water for 10 minutes. Peel and finely chop onion and garlic. Peel and grate ginger. Rinse tomato, remove stem and chop. Grind aniseed in a mortar and pestle. Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.

Heat oil in a large pan with a lid. Add onion, garlic, thyme, aniseed, masala, cloves, ginger and turmeric. Season with salt and pepper and add tomato. Add chicken and simmer over low heat about 20 minutes. Cook pork in boiling water about 20 minutes.

Drain pork and cut into bite-sized pieces. Rinse rice in a colander. Add pork and rice to the pan with chicken and fill with enough hot water to cover rice. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer over low heat until all liquid has been absorbed, about 45 min.
