150 grams Raspberries
150 grams Strawberries
150 grams Sour cherry
100 grams Blueberries
½ l Red wine (semi-dry)
½ l water
100 grams sugar
1 Cinnamon stick
½ Organic orange
40 grams cornstarch

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse currants and remove from stems.

2.

Pick over raspberries and brush off any dirt, but do not wash!

3.

Rinse cherries. Remove stems and pits. 

4.

Rinse, pick over and hull strawberries.

5.

Rinse and pick over blueberries.

6.

Set aside about half of berries. 

7.

Combine remaining fruit with red wine, water, sugar and lemon juice in a large saucepan. Cut orange into slices and add to pan.

8.

Bring to a boil, cover and cook over low heat about 15 minutes.

9.

Strain berries through a fine sieve.

10.

Return strained berry liquid to pot and bring to a boil.  Mix cornstarch with a little water or wine and stir into berry liquid until thickened. 

11.

Place the reserved fruit in a (glass) bowl and top with the cooked fruit jelly.

12.

Serve berries with prepared vanilla sauce or sweetened heavy cream.
