1 pkg Potato dumplings
250 grams Poppy seeds
salt
1 jar Sour cherry (drained, 350 grams or 13 ounces)
3 tsps fine cornstarch
3 tsps black Red currant jelly
2 Tbsps Port wine
powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preparation steps

1.

Thaw out dough. Knead in poppy seeds and let rest for 10 minutes.

Divide dough into 8 dumplings. Cook in lightly salted water, according to package instructions. 

3.

Drain cherries and reserve juice (about 300 ml or 1.2 cups). Combine 5 tablespoons cherry juice with cornstarch. Boil remaining juice, cherries, jelly and port wine. Whisk in cornstarch mixture. Boil sauce again, then leave to cool.

4.

Plate dumplings, drizzle with cherry sauce and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
