1 sheet frozen Puff pastry (thawed but still chilled)
flour (for work surface)
21 ozs canned cherry pie filling
1 egg
1 Tbsp water

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 400ºF / 200ºC. Line an oven-proof glass pie plate with parchment paper.

Unfold the sheet of puff pastry. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the puff pastry so that is slightly larger than the pie plate. Place the pastry in the prepared pie plate. Spoon the cherry pie filling in the middle of the tart. Fold and pinch the excess pastry to form a rim around the edge, in the shape of a bowl.

In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water together. Brush the edges of the puff pastry with the egg wash.

Bake the tart for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Reduce oven temperature to 350ºF / 180ºC and rotate the pastry, to promote even browning. Bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
5.
Let cool for at least 30 minutes to let the filling set. Slice and serve.
