22 ozs potatoes (cooked, peeled and sliced)
14 ozs Tomatoes (sliced)
10 ozs Ground beef
1 tsp Mustard
1 Tbsp Tomato paste
2 onions (finely chopped)
2 garlic cloves
1 bay leaf
1 Tbsp clarified butter
1 tsp rosemary
1 tsp marjoram
1 tsp thyme
2 stalks Leeks (rinsed, sliced white and light green parts)
salt
freshly ground peppers
9 ozs Gruyere (grated)

Preparation steps

1.

Heat butter in a pan and saute onions and bay leaf for a few minutes. Squeeze garlic through a press and add to the pan together with ground meat, mustard, tomato paste and herbs, season with salt and pepper. Remove bay leaf.

Layer vegetables and ground meat mixture in a greased casserole pan, alternating, season with salt and pepper and sprinkle each layer with cheese.

3.

Bake in preheated oven at 180°C / 350°F for about 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve.
