1 onion
1 garlic clove
olive oil
100 milliliters white wine
200 milliliters Broth
100 milliliters cream
500 grams mixed Ground meat
1 tsp finely chopped rosemary
1 Tbsp finely chopped parsley
salt
freshly ground peppers
800 grams predominantly waxy potatoes
Fresh herbs (for garnishing)
2 eggs
100 grams Crème fraiche
50 grams grated Cheese (such as Gouda)

Preparation steps

Peel onion and garlic, chop finely. Heat 1-2 tablespoons of oil in a pan and saute onion and garlic until translucent. Add ground meat and cook until crumbly. Add wine and boil down, add cream and broth. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Add more broth, if necessary. Remove from heat, add rosemary and parsley and season with salt and pepper. Cool down.

Peel potatoes and cut into 2-3 mm (approximately 0.1 inch) slices. Arrange one third of potato slices in the baking dish. Beat eggs with creme fraiche and mix with meat mixture. Spread half of meat mixture on potatoes and top with another layer of potatoes. Arrange another layer of meat and potatoes, seasoning each potato layer lightly with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 50 minutes or until golden brown. Sprinkle with herbs and serve.
