4 ripe Pear
Lime juice (from 2 limes)
2 Tbsps honey
1 pinch Saffron
2 tsps grated ginger
1 cup sweet white wine

Preparation steps

1.
Peel and core the pears, but leave the stalks on, and drizzle them immediately with lime juice.
2.
Disolve the honey in 2 tbsp water. Add the saffron and ginger and simmer for 1–2 minutes on a low heat.
3.
Add the wine and the pears and simmer for approx. 10 minutes with the lid on until the pears are soft but do not fall apart.
4.
While it simmers occasionally drizzle the liquid over the pears.
5.
Remove the pears from the pot and let cool.
6.
Reduce the syrup to about half, sift and let cool.
7.
Serve the pears drizzled with syrup.
