Nutritional values

The potassium-rich plums ensure a balanced fluid balance in the body. They also score points with vegetable dyes that protect the body's cells from harmful free radicals. B vitamins also support the nervous system and metabolism.

The cake can be eaten pure or with some whipped cream. No walnuts available? Sunflower seeds also look very good on plums.

Preparation steps

1.

Chop 50 grams (approximately 2 ounces) walnuts. Prepared fruit cake dough according to package instructions with margarine and eggs. Stir in the chopped walnuts. Put the dough into a greased springform pan (26 cm /approximately 10 inches in diameter) and smooth the surface. Rinse, halve and pit the plums. Arrange plums on the dough and top with the remaining walnuts. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (gas mark 2-3, fan: 160°C) (approximately 350°F/convection 325°F) for about 45 minutes. Strain apricot jam through a sieve, mix with water in a small saucepan and heat until warm. Brush cake with the jam glaze and serve.
