Peppercorn Beef with French Fries and Broccoli
Ingredients
- For the meat
- 4 Steak fillet (about 180-200 grams or 7 ounces)
- 2 tsps black peppercorns
- 2 tsps white peppercorns
- 4 allspice
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 Tbsps Corn oil
- salt
- For the side dishes
- 600 grams waxy potatoes
- 750 milliliters vegetable oil (for frying)
- 400 grams Broccoli
Preparation steps
For the meat: Preheat the oven to 120°C (approximately 250°F).
Rinse steaks and pat dry. Grind peppercorns and allspice with a mortar. Sprinkle pepper mixture onto a plate and turn steaks in it. Firmly press in Good peppercorns. Peel and quarter garlic. Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and fry until golden brown, remove. Place steaks in hot fat and sear on each side for 1 minute. Remove steaks from pan, put on an oiled baking sheet and bake in for about 40 minutes (or until desired doneness).
For the side dishes: Meanwhile, peel potatoes, rinse and cut into thin strips. Heat oil in a saucepan and fry potato strips until golden. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels and season with salt.
Rinse broccoli, cut into florets and boil in salted water until al dente, about 5 minutes.
Serve beef fillets with french fries and broccoli.
