Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oil in a large pan until very hot, but not smoking.
2.
Tip in the popping corn and quickly cover with a tight fitting lid and wait for the corn to start popping.
3.
Shake the pan over a low-medium heat. When the popping has ceased, remove the lid and sprinkle with salt or sugar, then pour into a large bowl.
