2 onions

100 grams smoked Pancetta
4 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 l Vegetable broth
2 bay leaves
3 sprigs thyme
1 tsp dried marjoram
4 red Sausage
4 Tbsps dark balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsps sugar

Preparation steps

Soak the lentils overnight in water.

Drain the lentils the next day. Cut the onions into halves and chop.

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a saucepan and fry the cloves for few seconds. Cut the pancetta into thin strips, add to the pan and fry for a few seconds. Add the onions and lentils, pour the vegetable broth, add the bay leaf, thyme and marjoram, and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for about 45 minutes over medium heat. If necessary, pour a little broth.

Fry the bratwurst sausages in a hot pan with 2 tablespoons oil until golden brown.

Season the lentil stew with balsamic vinegar and sugar and add the sausages. Let stand briefly and serve.
