Homemade Croutons

The name 'croutons' is derived from the Latin 'crusta' or 'crustum', meaning 'the crust' or 'fine pastry with a crust', and it is in this form that the small cubes of bread first appear in French as a description of small pieces of bread crust served with drinks.
If you would like to prepare a larger quantity at once, you can switch to the oven. To do this, spread the appropriate amount of oil on the baking tray, place the bread cubes on top and mix the ingredients. Then roast the croutons at 150 degrees (circulating air: 130 degrees; gas: level 1-2) for about 15 minutes.
