- 8 cups cooking Apple peeled; cored and sliced (McIntosh; Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith, etc. )
- 4 Tbsps freshly squeezed lemon juice (2 lemons)
- ¼ cup dark brown sugar
- 2 Tbsps white Granulated sugar
- 1 ⅓ cups water
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 ripe Apple (diced for garnish)

Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week or freeze up to 3 months.
Preparation steps

In a large saucepan, combine apples, lemon juice, sugar, water and cinnamon. Cover, and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes, or until apples are soft. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Mash with a potato masher. Serve warm or cold, garnished with diced apples.
