8 slices sandwich white bread
¼ cup butter (softened)
1 Romaine lettuce (leaves separated)
cup Mayonnaise
4 beef-steak Tomatoes (cored and sliced)

Preparation steps

1.
Toast the slices of bread in batches until they are golden brown.
2.
Butter four of the slices and arrange some lettuce leaves on top. Spread the mayonnaise evenly on top and then place slices of tomato on top. Next, top the tomato with the slices of ham.
3.
Butter the rest of the toast and lay on top. Use a sharp bread knife to cut off the crusts. Cut into halves and arrange one on top of another on serving plates.
