Mix flour with salt and form into a mound. Create a well in the center. Mix yeast with 200 ml (approximately 1 cup) lukewarm water and stir in sugar until dissolved. Pour yeast mixture into well and sprinkle with flour.
Cover and let rest for 45 minutes in a warm place. Add oil. Knead into an elastic, medium stiff dough. Add more water if necessary. Cover and let rest at room temperature for about 2 hours.
Knead the dough, form into a slightly oblong loaf and place on a floured baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 1 hour. Preheat oven to 220°C (approximately 425°F). Add a bowl of boiling water to bottom rack of oven. Bake bread for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Slice and serve.
