- 1 small red chili pepper
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 Lime
- 2 tsps freshly grated ginger
- 5 Tbsps dark soy sauce
- 2 Tbsps Fish sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 4 Tuna steak (about 200 grams)

Preparation steps

Halve chile lengthwise, remove seeds and ribs, rinse and chop. Peel and finely chop garlic. Halve lime and squeeze juice. Mix together ginger, chile, garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, sesame oil and lime juice in a saucepan. Bring to a boil briefly, then let cool. Pour marinade over tuna steaks and marinate 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Drain tuna steaks well. Place tuna steaks on a hot grill and grill just under 1 minute per side. Move steaks to a cooler part of the grill and cook 1-2 minutes more per side. Steaks should still be rare in the middle.

If desired, serve with scallions that have been brushed with a little oil and grilled.
