- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ tsp Baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 45 Maraschino cherry (drained, liquid reserved)
- 1 cup Chocolate chip
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk

Preparation steps
1.
Beat the butter in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Add the sugar and beat until well combined.
2.
Beat in the baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and salt until combined.
3.
Beat in the egg and vanilla until blended, then beat in the cocoa and flour until just combined. Chill the dough for 1 hour.

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line 2 large baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
5.
Shape the dough into 2.5cm|1" balls and place about 5cm|2" apart on the baking trays. Press your thumb into the centre of each ball. Place a cherry in each indentation.
6.
Heat the chocolate chips and condensed milk in a pan and stir over a low heat until the chocolate has melted. Stir in 4 teaspoons of the reserved cherry juice.
7.
Spoon about 1 teaspoon over each cherry, to cover completely.
8.
Bake for about 10 minutes until the edges are firm. Cool on the baking trays for 2 minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
