1 garlic clove

1 tsp Lemon peel
1 Tbsp olive oil
breadcrumbs (for dredging)

Preparation steps

Coarsely grate feta. Add to a bowl and mix with lemon peel and olive oil. Peel and finely chop garlic clove.

In another bowl, mix together veal sausage and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Shape mixture into a long roll, then cut into 36-40 pieces. With wet hands, flatten pieces. Place a tablespoon of the feta cheese mixture on each piece, then shape the meat around cheese to enclose it. Roll pieces into balls and dredge in breadcrumbs. Pour oil in a large pot or deep-fryer. When oil is hot, fry meatballs until golden, 2-4 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly. Sprinkle with lemon juice and serve with lettuce.
