Preparation steps

For the pastry: Combine flour, baking powder and sugar. Add quark, milk and oil and mix with the dough attachment of the hand mixer, then knead with your hands into a smooth pastry. Roll out on a floured surface and line greased tart pan with it (about 24-26 cm in diameter) (approximately 10 inches), making an edge all around. Prick with a fork several times.

For the topping: Combine buttermilk, milk, sugar, vanilla and egg and mix well. Spread cream onto pastry and arrange prunes on top. Bake in preheated oven at 190°C (gas mark 3, convection oven170°C) (approximately 400°F) for 20- 25 minutes.

Sprinkle tart with brown sugar and caramelize under a hot broiler briefly, watching carefully. Remove from the oven, cool and serve.
