These sweet, little treats are great when you have a craving for sweet foods and you need a little pick-me-up. They are higher in sugar, but they contain dark chocolate, which is known to have many health benefits, and walnuts, which provides healthy fats.
You can vary this by using milk or white chocolate instead, adding other nuts, or rolling them in cocoa powder or coconut flakes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Coarsely chop the chocolate and melt over a hot water bath. Remove from the heat, let cool until lukewarm, and beat in the butter and sugar. Let the sugar dissolve while stirring. Gradually stir in the eggs. Fold in the flour and nuts. Mix everything into a smooth dough and form small balls. If the dough is too loose, add extra flour. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the balls on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.
Remove from the oven and cool. Serve dusted with powdered sugar.
