- 26 ozs stewing Beef (cubed)
- ½ cup diced, fatty Bacon
- 11 ozs small onions
- 4 Parsnips (roughly chopped)
- 4 carrots (chopped)
- 1 stick Celery (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic cloves (crushed)
- ¼ cup Brandy (or Cognac)
- 2 cups robust Red wine
- salt
- peppers
- 2 Tbsps chopped parsley

1 Cutting board, 1 Peeler, 1 Small knife, 1 Pot mit Deckel, 1 Casserole dish, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Measuring cups, 1 Large knife, 1 Sieve, 1 Potato masher, 1 Small pot, 1 Wooden spoon, 1 Slotted spatula, 1 Paper towel
Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 150°C (130° fan) 300°F gas 2.

Heat the oil in a large frying pan and brown the meat cubes in batches. Put into a casserole dish.
3.
Add the bacon, onions, parsnips, carrots, celery and garlic to the pan and cook briefly until just browned. Put into the casserole dish.
4.
Pour in the brandy and red wine. Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir everything together. Cover tightly and cook for about 3 hours until the meat is very tender.
5.
Sprinkle with chopped parsley
