Baked Tomatoes with Feta Cheese
The secondary plant substance lycopene from tomatoes protects the body's cells from damage caused by free radicals and can have a positive effect on blood pressure. The feta is a good source of protein and thus supports muscle building. In addition, the mineral combination of calcium and phosphorus ensures healthy bones and teeth.
Make it extra nice for yourself! And with a tomato selection as colourful as possible: Whether yellow, red, large or small, the mixture makes the baked tomatoes with sheep's cheese particularly interesting.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400ºF).
Rinse the tomatoes, remove the stalks and cut into slices.
Coarsely dice the feta cheese and place in an ovenproof dish. Distribute the tomato slices on top and drizzle with plenty of olive oil. Shower with oregano and season with salt and pepper.
Bake for about 20 minutes.
Serve garnished with fresh herbs and drizzled with balsamic vinegar.
