700 grams green Beans

1 onion
1 garlic clove
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 sprig rosemary
200 grams Cornmeal (maize meal)
600 milliliters Vegetable broth (prepared)
freshly ground peppers
100 grams Bacon

Preparation steps

Rinse beans and cook for about 10 minutes in boiling salted water. Drain and rinse. Peel and mince onion and garlic. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a saucepan, sweat onion and garlic until soft, deglaze with vegetable stock, bring to a boil with 1 teaspoon salt and rosemary. Remove rosemary and slowly stir in cornmeal.

Grease a shallow baking dish with remaining oil. Pour in polenta and smooth. Add beans and season with pepper. Dice bacon and sprinkle onto casserole. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 390°F) for about 20 minutes. 

Remove, let set and serve.
