Baked Lavender Bread

- 1 tsp Lavender
- 1 ½ tsps salt
- 500 grams Pastry flour (type 1050)
- 25 grams Sourdough powder
- 1 tsp Dry yeast
- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
Preparation steps
Combine the lavender flowers with the salt in a mortar and grind coarsely. Mix with the flour, the yeast powder and the dried yeast. Add the oil and 250 - 275 ml lukewarm water (approximately 1 - 1 1/4 cups) and knead into a medium stiff dough.
Cover and leave to rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes until the volume has doubled.
Grease 4 small loaf pans. Knead the dough again briefly and divide into 4 portions. Shape into balls and place one ball of dough in each loaf pan. Cover and leave to rise for about 25 minutes in a warm place.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400ºF).
Place the loaf pans on the second lowest rail and bake for about 40 minutes (check with a toothpick).
Remove from the oven and leave to cool on a wire rack before serving.
