Nutritional values

The ham and tomato baguette is topped with cheese, which provides plenty of bone-strengthening calcium. The wholemeal baguette also provides fibre which stimulates digestion and promotes intestinal health.

Try a fresh leaf salad with a vinegar-oil dressing and fine onion rings with the gratinated ham-tomato baguette.

Preparation steps

1.

Halve the baguettes and cut horizontally. Top each side of baguette with a slice of cheese. Spread the crushed tomatoes on the lower halves. Cut the beefsteak tomato into slices and spread along with ham on the lower halves.

2.

Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (fan: 180°C, gas mark 3) (approximately 400°F) for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted.

Place the upper baguette halves over the lower ones and serve.
