Bagels with Cream Cheese, Horseradish, and Sprouts
Ingredients
- Ingredients
- 4 Sesame bagel
- 150 grams cream cheese
- 1 Tbsp Whipped cream
- 1 pc Horseradish (grated)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 1 handful Alfalfa sprouts
- Bagels - 10 pcs
- 450 grams Pastry flour
- ½ cube Yeast
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 125 milliliters lukewarm milk
- 60 milliliters vegetable oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- Also
- 1 egg white (Sesame seeds)
Preparation steps
Mix the cream cheese with the cream and horseradish. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Halve the bagels, and spread the cream cheese thoroughly. Top with the sprouts, and top with the upper halves.
Dissolve the yeats in warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Mix with the flour, oil, salt, and egg. Transfer to the bowl of a stand mixer with a dough hook attached and knead well. Rest in a warm place for 30 minutes.
Knead well, and rest for an additional 30 minutes.
Knead on a floured surface, and divide the dough into 10 equal parts. Form into balls, and press 1 hole in the middle of each. Stretch the hole to about 4 cm (approximately 1 1/2 inches) and form the dough into a ring. Rest for 15 minutes.
Boil the bagels, in batches, for 1 minute in boiling salted water. Turn once, then remove and drain well. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with the beaten egg white, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a 200°C (approximately 400°F) oven for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
