250 milliliters lukewarm water
50 milliliters vegetable oil

Preparation steps

Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm water with 1 tablespoon of sugar, then mix with flour, remaining sugar, oil, salt and egg. Knead well. Keep covered in a warm place for about 30 minutes.

Knead and leave it again for 30 minutes.

On a floured surface knead the dough, divide into 14 equal parts, with each piece about 15 cm (approximately 6 inches) long. Bring the ends of each piece of dough together to shape it into a circle, and let them set for about 15 minutes.

Then place the bagels in boiling water one at a time for about 1 minute each. Remove and place on two parchment-lined baking sheets. Brush with beaten egg white then sprinkle with poppy and sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven (200°C, approximately 400°F) for about 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
