Preparation steps

1.

Remove pits from dates.

Halve avocados, remove pits, and scoop out flesh. Cut four slices of avocado as garnish and set aside. Cut remaining avocados into cubes.

Rinse lime with hot water, pat dry, and cut 4 slices for garnish. Set aside. Squeeze juice from remaining lime.

In a blender, combine cubed avocados with approximately 1 3/4 ounces dates, milk, maple syrup, and almonds. Puree until smooth. Mix in 1 scant cup water and season with lime juice.

5.

Divide smoothie among 4 glasses and garnish with avocado and lime slices. Cut remaining dates into cubes and thread onto wooden skewers or toothpicks. Serve with smoothies.
