- 200 grams thin slices Beef
- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
- 300 grams Sweet potato
- 200 grams carrots
- 3 onions (300 grams)
- 20 grams dried Bonito flake
- 3 Tbsps Sake
- 4 Tbsps sugar
- 2 Tbsps soy sauce
Preparation steps
1.
Cut beef slices into 3 cm pieces (approximately 1 inch). Heat oil in a pan and brown beef on all sides.

Peel and rinse potatoes and carrots, cut into bite-sized pieces. Peel onions, halve lengthwise and cut lengthwise into thin wedges.

Add potatoes, carrots and onions to beef and brown, turning often.
4.
Combine bonito flakes with 3 cups of water, remove from heat and let stand for about 1 minute. Wait until flakes sink to the bottom, strain broth through a cheese cloth. Pour broth into the pot, bring to a boil, removing all resulting foam. Add sake, sugar and soy sauce.
5.
Add broth to beef pan and simmer on medium heat until almost all broth has evaporates. Arrange in bowls and serve.
