- 125 grams butter
- 100 grams Marzipan
- 100 grams sugar
- 1 packet Vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 organic Orange
- 100 grams Pastry flour
- 50 grams cornstarch
- Baking powder
- 100 grams ground almonds
- 30 grams almonds
- 100 grams Nougat glaze
- Paper baking mold
Preparation steps
Beat butter, marzipan, sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy. Add eggs to butter mixture and mix well.
Rinse orange with hot water, pat dry, zest and juice. Stir orange zest and juice into butter mixture. Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder and ground almonds and stir into butter mixture to a smooth batter.
Line a muffin tin with paper baking cups and fill cups half-full with batter. Place muffin tin on a baking sheet and bake muffins in oven preheated to 175°C (fan: 160°C, gas mark 1)(approximately 350°F) for 20-25 minutes. Remove muffins from oven and let cool slightly.
Toast almonds in a dry skillet. Soften nougat glaze packet in hot water for about 10 minutes. Cut off one corner of glaze packet and drizzle glaze over muffins. Sprinkle muffins with almonds to serve.
