- 2 Tomatoes
- 125 grams Mozzarella
- 2 sprigs Basil
- 2 garlic cloves
- 600 grams Ground meat
- 1 egg
- 80 grams breadcrumbs
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 3 Tbsps olive oil

Preparation steps

Soak the bread in lukewarm water. Blanch the tomatoes, peel, quarter, core and dice. Drain the mozzarella and dice. Rinse the basil, shake dry, pluck off the leaves and chop finely. Peel the garlic and chop finely. Squeeze out excess moisture from the bread and mix with the ground meat, egg and garlic. Add the basil, tomatoes, mozzarella and enough breadcrumbs to soak up excess moisture, if needed. Season with salt and pepper then shape into meatballs.

Cook the meatballs in a frying pan with the olive oil until golden brown, about 8 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve.
