1 Red chili pepper
80 grams brown sugar
2 Cardamom
800 grams Tomatoes
1 lemon (juiced)
4 centiliters Orange liqueur

Preparation steps

Rinse chile pepper and prick with a fork several times. Combine sugar with 100 ml (approximately 2/5 cup) of water, bring to a boil and simmer for about 1 minute. Remove from heat, add chile pepper and cardamom and allow to cool.

Blanch tomatoes in boiling water, rinse in cold water and peel, Quarter and remove seeds, puree in a blender. Combine with syrup (as desired, leave or remove chile pepper and cardamom), lemon juice and liqueur. Pour mixture into shallow metal pan and freeze for at least 4 hours. Stir vigorously with a fork every 30 minutes.

About 10 minutes before serving, remove from freezer and stir well. Place granita into glasses and serve.
