Tofu with Lemon Sauce
- For the tofu
- 600 grams Tofu
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the tofu, cut tofu into bite-size cubes, place tofu in a bowl, add soy sauce, mix and season with salt and cayenne pepper. Let rest for about 15 minutes. Heat butter and olive oil in a pan and fry tofu for 5-8 minutes until golden brown. Remove from pan and keep warm.
For the sauce, rinse basil, pat dry and coarsely chop.
Peel shallots and chop. Add shallots and basil to the pan and briefly fry in butter-oil mixture. Dust with flour and briefly fry. Add lemon juice and broth, sprinkle with lemon zest and season with salt and cayenne pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes until sauce is creamy.
Stir, add creme fraiche, stir and season with salt and cayenne pepper. Serve Fried tofu with sauce on plates.
