Ingredients

½ l milk
1 pinch salt
100 grams butter
3 Tbsps sugar
150 grams Semolina flour
2 eggs
For topping
50 grams butter
2 Tbsps ground almonds
2 Tbsps ground Poppy seeds
1 Tbsp brown sugar
½ tsp cinnamon

Preparation steps

For the dumplings, scald the milk with salt, butter, and sugar. Add the semolina flour and simmer, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly. Stir in the eggs, one at a time and continue to cool.

Spoon the dumpling mixture into boiling, salted water. Simmer about 8 minutes. For the topping, melt the butter in a pan, stir in the almonds and poppy seeds and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar and cinnamon. Toss the dumplings in the poppy seed butter.

To serve, transfer the dumplings to dessert plates and drizzle with the remaining poppy seed butter. Serve immediately.
